Event info

Each year, athletes compete for the title of Wheelchair Tennis Masters. Throughout the year, athletes have earned points by participating in and winning various tournaments. The top 8 athletes, based on the International Tennis Federation (ITF) rankings, from each gender and discipline, qualify to participate in the NEC Singles & UNIQLO Doubles Wheelchair Tennis Masters.

Multiple disciplines

At the Wheelchair Tennis Masters, athletes compete for titles in two categories: singles and doubles. Within these categories, there are three disciplines: men, women, and quads. Athletes in the quad discipline have impairments in both their upper and lower bodies. Athletes may compete in one or both categories, depending on their classification.

The Wheelchair Tennis Masters is the first event in the Netherlands after the Paralympic Games, offering a unique opportunity to see Paralympians compete in person and witness wheelchair tennis at the highest level. Several top 8 Dutch athletes will participate, including Niels Vink, Aniek van Koot and Sam Schröder.

15 countries

In total, around 45 athletes from approximately 15 countries across the globe will participate. From European athletes to competitors from Japan, the diversity is extensive. The final list of athletes participating in the Wheelchair Tennis Masters 2024 in Arnhem will be announced in October.
